Also known as Gamekeeper's Cottage (RCHM). Probably late C17 or early C18 with
later additions. Roughcast stone, exposed to north-west elevation, slate roof.
South-east elevation of 2 storeys, 4 bays, the 4th bay later. 1st 3 bays have
windows with chamfered surrounds, but that to 3rd bay of 1st floor is later,
with plaster surround; originally of 2 and 3 lights with flat-faced mullions,
now with casements; ground floor has dripstone over window to 1st bay, 3rd bay
has fire window. 4th bay has wider windows with sandstone surrounds and
casements. Blocked entrances between 1st and 2nd bays. Gable end stack and
cross-axial stack. Rear has later outshut in 3 phases under catslide roof.
Entrance and 3 small windows. Interior has chamfered beams and panelled
cupboard.
