C15 hall house with gabled and jettied crosswings. Timber framed and plastered,
with red plain tile roof. Two storeys. Timber casement windows, mostly
modern. Two gabled dormers. Red brick chimney stack of late C16, with 4
diagonal shafts. Mantel beam bears scratched date of 1632. Early C19 chimney
to east end. Cl7 and later extensions at rear. Internally are many original
features including C16 inserted first floor in hall, screens doorways, and
doors to opposite end of hall. Roofs are crown post and collar purlin.
Arch braced tie beams. (RCHM 5).
