This is a large C18 house, originally a private house and acquired by the School in 1827. Two storeys and attic. Square building of five windows facing east and south respectively and a contemporary wing of two windows slightly set back at the north end of the east front. Three dormers facing east, one facing south. Red brick. Stone base and stringcourse, wooden modillion eaves cornice. Brick parapet surmounted by large ball and caps and vases, alternately at the corners and in the centre of each front. Hipped tiled roof. Glazing bars intact. Doorway in centre of east front in stone architrave surround with projecting cornice over. Centre first floor window above this in brick surround.
