House and shop. C17, altered in C20. Timber framed, plastered, with C20
imitation framing applied to first-floor front and left side, roofed with
handmade red plain tiles. Rectangular plan facing S with 2 internal rear
stacks. 2 storeys and attics. Ground floor, one C20 casement and one C20 sash.
First floor, one C20 casement and one early C19 sash of 16 lights. 2 gabled
dormers, one with C19/20 casement and one with C18 2-light window and wrought
iron casement. Hipped roof. 2 C20 glazed doors in left return, to Queen's
Road. Wheelwright's shop in C17 and forge from 1747 (Where I Dwell, Earls Colne
WEA, 1983, 63).
