TL 51 NW HATFIELD BROAD OAK RYES LANE

granary and cartshed
approx. 30 metres north
of Ryes Farmhouse

GV II

Group of barns and outbuildings. C17, C18 and C19. Timber framed with black
weatherboarding but with 2 structures, partly of red brick at the north east
corner. Roofs are mostly of pegtiles. Large 'E' shaped group of linked barns
and outbuildings. The northwest range has a half hipped roof and 3 separate
rear lean-to's, one with pantiles. The long north east range has a gabled
midstrey, with dovecote in gable on its southwest side and a smaller lean-to.
Abutting this elevation is a small pantile roofed outbuilding. At the north
west corner is a red brick granary with C17 doors reused in a first floor.
South of this is an open sided cartshed and small granary-like building with
half hipped roof. Included for group value.
