Road bridge over the River Lune. Late C18; upstream side widened c.1868 (when
Lune Viaduct built). Sandstone ashlar; rebuilt parapets and snecked, rock-
faced upstream side.

Downstream segmental arch, with flush voussoirs, flanked by battered buttresses;
chamfered band above arch. Upstream segmental arch with projecting rock-faced
voussoirs. Parapets with segmental copings. Attached end walls: flat-coped
to north, about 9.0 metres long and curved on plan; south-east wall ends in a
circular pier with domical cap, south-west wall ends in a rectangular pier.

Included for group value.

This bridge straddles the parishes of Holwick, Middleton and Lunedale.
