Hillside Farm Cottage
II
House. C15, altered and extended late C19. Timber framed and exposed with plaster
infill on red and blue brick ground floor. Plain tiled roofs. Hall house of 3
framed bays with C19 rear wing. Two storeys with jetty to right end, and returned
to rear right with large panel tension-braced framing on 1st floor, and hipped
roof with gablets and stack cluster to centre right. Three uneven sized 2-light
wooden casements on each floor, with door of 4 panels to centre right. Right
return with "Kentish framing" on 1st floor (tension braces with infilled mullioned
windows). C19 rear wing in imitation of main range, with 2 wooden casements on
each floor and boarded door at end right.
