C18. L shared house. Facade of red brick with grey headers. Tiled mansard roof.
Northern part originally a symmetrical house with 3 windows and centre door. A
southern section of almost the same size but with only 1 window added later.
2 storeys and attic with 4 dormers. 4 windows late C18/early C19 3 light casements
with glazing bars, except centre and south end. Large porch with dentil cornice.
Interior has earlier core with C17 brick fireplaces and some panelling. Rear lower
2 storey cross wing with half hipped gable end.
No 80 (Great Crabthorn) forms a group with Crabthorn Farm Cottage, Crabthron Farmhouse
and its granary, Crabthorn Farm Lane, Hill Head (the granary is a building of
local interest.)
