House, for some time 2 cottages. C16, 1687, early C19, and C20. Brick and tile.
Timber-framed house with later cladding; front (west) of 2 storeys, 3 windows.
Plain roof. Walls of red brickwork in English bond, deep 1st floor band with
decoration of recessed crosses, cambered ground-floor openings, plinth. Casements.
Late C19 wide brick porch with side entrances, hipped roof, and interior wall
separating the 2 doorways. The south gable has the same 1st floor band, and a
thinner band at eaves level with brick sized recesses to form decoration: in the
centre above this (within the gable) is recessed panel work, with a central terra-
cotta plaque with raised characters, 1687 1.K. The north gable has exposed
framing in its upper part (repaired late C20). There are rear extensions, one
with a hipped the other a gabled roof (with tile-hanging above malmstone lower
walling), and single-storeyed C20 outshots. The timber frame is partly-exposed
within.
