Pair of cottages and old forge. C17 core encased C18 altered C19 and C20. Timber- frame, brick, thatched roof, slated smithy. Pair of two bay cottages with C20 bay added to Left cottage and C19 single storey smithy one and a half storey at Right end. Left Hand cottage has at Right planked cottage with inserted light under thatched hood in each bay two-light casement with two-light eyebrow dormer over. Right cottage has six-panel top-lit door under thatched hood in centre. Each side small 16-pane sash under segmental arch. Over Left bay horixontal sliding sash in eyebrow dormer and to Right large single casement in eyebrow dormer. Roof half-hipped with ridge piece, and large central stack between cottages. Smithy has double doors and three-light casements with shutters. Roof hipped with stack built up against cottage.

Once home of J M Jagger, local poet and historian.
