L_shaped group of mid C18 cottages turning corner on to the Spain. 2 storeys,
2 windows each, except No 36 1 window on each floor blocked. Red brick
with diaper of blue headers. One wall has some galleted malmstone with
brick dressings. High pitched, hipped tiled roof. 2-light horizontal
sliding sash windows with glazing bars in near-flush box frames, those
on ground floor under segmental brick arches. Plain doors in similar frames.
stone inserted on North side with inscription:- "This house and gardens
was given to this Parish for a Poor House by our worthy friends the late
John Jolliffe and Millam Jolliffe Esquire in the year 1771."
