The Cottage, and

Mid C19. An almost symmetrical 2-storeyed pair, with a square block attached on the
south side in a forward position in Tudor estate style. Tile roof, with coupled gables
in the centre of the front (west). The upper walling is tile-hung, with scalloped
bands the lower in red brickwork. Flemish bond with blue headers. Casements have
cast-iron lozenge,glazing bars and wood frames, the ground-floor windows projecting on
curved brackets, with pent roofs. Plain doors with different porches. The attached
block has a steep pyramid roof, with gabled dormers to the west and south faces, the
south side also having 2 small gablets on carved brackets, on each side of a central
window (with the west central window having a projecting frame on brackets). Later
additions in matching style.
