C18, early C19. Square cobbled courtyard, surrounded by ranges of 2 storeys, with an
imposing symmetrical front (north) facing the Park (and former mansion). The
slightly-projecting centrepiece is marked by a pediment-shaped gable, with a lunette
above the carriage arch which has a window on each side; the wings are of 2 windows.
Hipped slate roof, moulded brick eaves. Yellow brick walling in Flemish bond, with
projecting quoins at the sides, arched openings, stone cills, and plinth. Sashes. A
square clock tower has vertical cladding, with an open octagonal turret with pointed
arches and ogee cupola. The east range is residential (Horne Farm Cottages), of red
brick and tile roof, with a series of later 1/2 dormers. The west and south ranges (of
one and 2 storeys) have stables and garages, with later extensions.
