SP 0033 ALDERTON ALDERTON VILLAGE

13/2 Church Cottage


GV II

Detached cottage. Mid-late C17. Square-panelled timber framing
with rendered and painted brick infill; painted brick and squared
and dressed stone; thatched roof with brick stack. Rectangular
plan. C20 flat-roofed extensions to the south and west not of
special interest. 1½ storeys. Single 2-light wooden casement and
one fixed 12-pane window, both with shutters, to the timber-framed
wall facing the path to the church. Timber-framing interrupted by
a stone and brick-built stack at the west gable end. Two-light
casement to the right of the stack at first floor level. Brick
gable end facing churchyard with a segmental-headed 2-light
casement to the ground floor, similar window above. Access now via
C20 extension. Half-hipped roof to gable end facing the
churchyard. Gable-end stack. Interior not inspected.
