Two houses in short row. C17. Coursed and squared rubble, some heavy box
timber framing at the back, stone slate roof including cut stone ridge, large
external stack to left, ridge stack at party wall, right. The building has
a deep wing projecting back at left and including some timber framing, and
the roof of the main block is continuous with that of No 85 (q.v.). Two
storeys attic and cellar, 3-windowed: two small C19 2-light casement dormers
over 3 sashes with central vertical glazing bar, and no cills, over square
sash with vertical bar, left, stone cill, and 2-light sash with central mul-
lion set in opening with reserved chamfer surround and stopped drip; this
appears to have been a 2-light or 4-light stone mullioned casement modified
and extended downwards. Low, left is opening to cellar. Off-centre left
C20 part glazed door in early C18 moulded and eared architrave with keystone
approached by 4 steps, and far right is plank door, set in deep reveal con-
taining 5 steps. Interior has some timber framing, and one stone bolection
mould fire surround ground floor left, and one good shell cupboard. This
was at some time the Pack Horse Inn.
