II
Lambing or calf shelter. C19. Limestone rubble, stone slate roof. A small
circular structure about 4 metres in diameter and 2 metres to plate height
to conical roof. On the east side an opening with cut stone jambs and flat
lintol formerly with door frame and a small opening in the roof over this
doorway. Internally divided into 3 stalls with partitions c 1.2 metre high
and 2 doors of same height; small storage platform over with hay rack.
This is built into the hill slopes on the west side, and initially looks
like an ice-house, but probably served as a nursery for lambs or calves
needing special attention.
