SO 90 SW BISLEY-WITH-LYPIATT BOURNES GREEN

7/17 Orchard Cottage and Brook Cottage

II

Two houses in row. Late C17; early C18 addition. Coursed and
random rubble limestone; brick rebuilt chimneys; concrete tile
roof. Two-storey with attic. Front: 2-window fenestration to
each house. Brook Cottage to right is earlier with single and 2-
light mullioned casement to ground floor; upper floor 2 and 3-
light casements with hoodmoulds. Central doorway with glazed door
and timber lintel. Orchard Cottage to left has 2-light chamfered
mullioned casements. Two doorways, one with C20 flat porch hood.
Small single-light in recess to right, probably original doorway.
East end: single-window fenestration to gable end; 2-light C19
ground floor casement with hoodmould, fixed-light with timber
lintel to upper, 2-light recessed cavetto mullioned casement to
attic with oval set immediately above. Ball finial. C20 gabled
addition to right.
