Description

COATES COATES VILLAGE SO 90 SE 2/10 Church Farmhouse GV II Farmhouse. Core of C17, possibly an older foundation and originally much larger, with C19 additions to side and rear. Main part of house in coursed and snecked stone with quoins, with stone slate roof and 2 large stone external stacks on each rear cross wing. C19 additions in coursed stone with brick stack, of 2 storeys. Main range of 3 storeys, each with 3/1/3/3-light long cavetto-moulded stone mullions with leaded glass, 2 small hipped dormers. Main entrance to right in C19 addition with gabled porch with stone Tudor archway and double vertical panelled doors, 12- pane sash to right and two 9-pane sashes above with keystones. North gable end of main range is roughcast-faced above plinth and has blocked 3-light stone mullion with square hoodmould on each floor. Large lean-to with catslide roof to rear of main block, C19 wing has 2 gables to rear.
