Former whipping post. C17. A timber post about 2m high set in a concrete base with a pyramidal metal cap. Attached to one side are rough iron handcuffs, M-shaped. An attached plaque reads 'This whipping post was last known to be used on July 27, 1665 when two vagabonds were publicly flogged here'. Circular railed enclosure. (RCHM 1910). No. 15 is not listable.
