Garden walls to Breckles Hall

Complex of interconnecting walls comprising 2 gardens courtyard and boundary
wall. Brick with coping tiles. Late C16 and early C17.
Main entrance through segmental semi-circular rebated arch flanked by pilasters on plinth. String course and moulded brick cornice below serpentine overthrow punched with oval lunettes. Battlemented walls on plinth extend north and south returning to house. Battlements and merlons both with terra-cotta saddleback coping tiles on saw-toothed cornice.
4 subsidiary gateways connect gardens, that to courtyard from south through segmental arch flanked by clasping buttresses and battlements as walls. Gate to courtyard from north through 4-centred arch with pilasters to parapet and battlements as walls.
