Garden walls. Brick. Late C16. Defines tilting ground to west of house
with walls to north and south, part walled to east and a ha-ha retaining wall
to west. Walls in English or mixed bond on plinth with saw toothed eaves
cornice and moulded coping. Summerhouse abuts east side of east wall probably
mid C17. Entrance arch to kitchen garden has polygonal engaged columns on
square plinth either side of moulded arch carded on imposts. String course
links heads of columns over arch. Overthrow above with 2 circular lunettes.
Kitchen garden wall runs to south, returns east and again to north, each side
with similar arch. Arch in entrance courtyard late C20 copy. 2 gate piers
in courtyard C18 with pineapples as finials. 2 others C20 copies.
