Parish church. Medieval and later. Flint with ashlar and some brick dressings. Plaintile roofs. Aisleless nave with a tower porch to south side and a north chapel; chancel with vestry to north. C13 tower. Angle buttresses with gabled staging. Rectangular stair turret to north east. C14 entrance arch with dying mouldings and polygonal responds. Plain lancets at first floor level. Quatrefoil sound holes to second floor and 2-light bell openings with early bar tracery. Post-Medieval brick parapet. Con- temporary nave with one surviving lancet to west of tower and a deeply moulded entrance on 2 pairs of shafts. 2 restored late-Medieval windows of 2 and 3 lights to south. Restored 3-light west window and 2 3-light windows to north. Chancel with a restored 3-light window to north and a modern vestry re-using some C13 mouldings as gable corbels. To south a C13 moulded priest's doorway flanked by a pair of fine 3-light panel traceried windows with transoms. East wall with chequer flushwork and a restored C14 4-light window with reticulated tracery. Interior. C13 double piscinae in chancel beneath interesting moulded arches supported on miniature shafts with bell capitals and water holding bases. Adjacent double sedilia with moulded arches of unequal sizes supported on a quatrefoil shaft. Deeply moulded scoinson arches to all 4 chancel windows. Aumbry to north with trefoil arch. Plain hollow chamfered chancel arch on polygonal responds. North chapel entrance arch on polygonal responds. Nave piscina to south and a heart tomb recess adjacent. Stair turret entrance has a C15 door with blind tracery and cover strips. Late C13 or C14 octagonal font with trefoil arches on engaged colonnettes with Corinthianesque capitals. Supported on 8 restored shafts. Elaborate wall monument in memory of Edward Heyhoe (died 1788).
