Lock house. Cl815 with later alterations. Possibly designed by Benjamin Bevan, in a variant form of'Old
Grand Union' style housing. Painted brick with hipped, slate roof with ridge stack. Outshut to rear. 2
storeys. 3 bays. Off-centre doorway with C20 door and open porch with pitched roof loargeboard and
finial. On either side, a single 4-light casement window with a cambered arch. Above, a pair of slightly
smaller, small-pane, 2-light casement windows with cambered arches. Cottage bears an important
relationship to Watford Locks (q.v.) with which it has group value.
