Corner site with Regent Street. Jewellery quarter works built in 1905;
architects Essex Nicol and Goodman. A 3 storey building of machined finely
pointed red brick with terracotta dressings, broadly curved round corner into
Regent Street. Seven bays to Vittoria Street, the seventh beginning the
curve followed by 4 broader bays round into Regent street. Plain brick piers
rise from the first floor moulded terracotta sill course to the bracketed
terracotta eaves cornice. Low slate roof curved with corner. Terracotta
cornices to chimneys. The broad ground floor windows form an elliptical arched
arcade and have weathered moulded terracotta sills. The windows to upper
floors take up virtually the full width of the bays, with segmental arches and
keystones on first floor and flat terracotta arches full width on top floor
functioning as frieze between the piers. Transomed plate glass glazing, curved
in corner windows. Three doorways to Vittoria street with terracotta cornices
and sections of entablature supporting segmental pediments, all of terracotta.
