Inn, now house and shop. Late C17 or early C18, with late C18 or early
C19 additions and alterations. Painted brick, largely in Flemish bond.
Chequered red and grey brick to left return. 2 storeys, attic and cellar.
Rendered plinth (on deep stone base to left gable end where land drops).
Boarded fascia or plat band. Coved plastered eaves cornice. Roof hipped
to left, gabled to right. Projecting red and grey brick gable end stack
to left. Rear stack towards centre. Four hipped dormers, two to left of
stack with two-light casements, two to right with four panes. Regular
8-window front of five slightly recessed twelve-pane sashes and three
blind windows. Door with six flush panels and plain architrave between
second and third windows from left, to Swan Place. Door with four sunk
panels towards centre. C20 shop front to rest. Two-storey rear return
wing to left, largely late C18 or early C19, of chequered red and grey
brick partly continuous with gable end of main range, but with slightly
higher eaves and rear gable; irregular fenestration of three twelve-pane
sashes. Shorter rear wing to centre, weatherboarded, with plain tile roof
and two gables. Interior not inspected.
