east south east of Abbey Farmhouse

Dovecote. Apparently C17, but possibly with C15 origins. Ham stone coursed rubble, ashlar quoins and dressings; hipped
plain clay tiled roof over stone slate base courses; lead covered cap, the wood glover having been removed since
previous listing. In south face a low door with near- triangular arched head in very deep lintol. Interior not
accessible. Possibly one of the surviving relics of the former priory which occupied this part of the village.
Scheduled Ancient Monument (Somerset County No 4406). (VCH vol 111, 1974).
