Garden House. C16, remodelled in early C18, and then again in Gothick
style c1770. Brick with stone dressings. Square plan, 1 storey and
basement. Stone quoins. Stone steps with coped string to panelled door
with plain wood surround in pointed brick arch, flanked by blank pointed
arches with painted intersecting glazing bars. Blank star-shaped
opening over door beneath water-spouts and battlemented parapet
concealing low pitch roof. Right elevation has boarded door to basement
in chamfered stone surround, blocked rectangular opening in plain brick
surround to right. Upper floor has pointed sash with intersecting
tracery, flanked by pointed brick arches, with blank trefoil over. Left
elevation has blank quatrefoil to upper floor. Interior has bolection
moulded panelling throughout, fireplace with moulded architrave,
pulvinated frieze, and moulded cornice; window shutters with late C18
painted marbling to inner face.
