GV II
Barn, implement shed, byre and haylofts. Mid C18. Brick in English garden
wall bond, pantile roof. U-shaped on plan, with main range containing
threshing barn, and implement shed,now byre, running parallel. Left wing
contains storage space with granary over. Right wing contains byre with
hayloft over. Facade to foldyard: 4-bay single-storey implement shed leans
to against 2 storey barn. Wings of 2 storeys and 3 bays. Implement shed: 3
blocked elliptical arches, the central one containing fixed window, the
outer ones board doors, with a further board door beneath segmental arch to
extreme left. Left wing: single board door and stepped eaves course to
right return. Gable end: additional brick steps to board granary door.
Gable coping and shaped kneelers. Right wing: board stable door flanked by
slatted openings beneath segmental arches. Fixed windows to first floor.
Stepped eaves course. Gable end: board pitching door, gable coping, shaped
kneelers. Rear facade: tall round-arched double-leaf board doors. Hipped
roof. Addition to right not of special interest. Interior: good queen-post
roof to barn.
