TL 1030 (West side)

8/12 Hexton Manor Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Probably C18, renovated early C19. Chalk clunch faced with
stucco lined as ashlar. Parallel hipped slate roofs with projecting
eaves and wooden cornice with blocks, and white brick chimneys. A large
2-storeys, 3 windows wide, double-pile plan house facing E, with
chimneys on the mid-wall. Set back from street. Near symmetrical E front
with 2 + 1 recessed sash windows to 1st floor of 8/8 panes and triple
sashes with small panes flanking the entrance itself offset to left of
centre. 6-panels half-glazed flush-beaded door in simple surround with
corner blocks, and 2 steps. Gabled tiled hood on posts. Symmetrical S
garden front has 3 windows to each floor with recessed sash windows of
8/8 panes, and 2 French windows.
