Farmhouse, now a private house. Early C18 incorporating C17
kitchen wing, all renovated and cased in grey brick c. 1830, W
bay C20. Grey brick with 1st floor of S parlour bay framed and
weatherboarded on W. Fletton brick S bay. Slate roof to main
range, hipped at N. Old red tile steep roof to kitchen wing with
2 gabled dormers on each side. An L-shaped 2 storeys house
facing W, with one and a half storeys at NW. 3 unit plan with
central chimney nearer S end. Large chimney at junction with
kitchen wing. C19 doorcase in the angle. 6-panel moulded door
with reeded pilasters and triangular pediment. Flush box sash
windows with segmental arches. On (E) garden front 3 windows
with 2 storeys canted bay on RH and the flush boxes of sash
windows converted to casement windows in C19. Kitchen wing has
2-light casement windows with segmental arches. Glazed lean-to
conservatory. Interior has exposed timbers in kitchen wing with
C18 inserted floor with chamfered axial beam and square joists.
Large open fire in kitchen. Carved marble fire surrounds with
fluted architraves and corner blocks. Reeded mouldings to
plaster cornice and 6-panel doors. Formerly the farmhouse to
Hatchett Farm.
