Red brick, steeply pitched tiled roof with dormer behind parapet. 2 storeys, 4 sash windows with nearly flush framed and louvered shutters. 2 stone steps up to 6 panelled door and fanlight in panelled reveal and elaborately carved wooden surround of pilasters and broken pediment with modillions. Ground-floor room has niches, original fireplace. Plaque records residence in a house on thin site of 'George Chapman, translator, 1559-1634'.
