House, former labourer's accommodation and storage for Hamper Mill. Mid
C18, attic added in C19, altered C20. Red brick with burnt headers.
Roughcast and weatherboarded attic. Machine tiled roof. 2 storeys and
attic. 3 bays. Ground floor: entrance and 2 windows inserted in large
central round arch. To left a carriage bay with strap-hinged double
doors. Ground floor right and 2 first floor C20 cross casements.
Dentilled brick eaves. Stack on front pitch to right of centre. Attic
has central 3 light and flanking 2 light casements, leaded lights. Eaves
cornice. To left adjoins The Old Cottage (q.v.). Right return has C19
buttresses on ground floor, scattered casements and a lunette in the
attic under a bargeboarded gable. To rear: dentilled eaves, C20
casements. Large stack to left of centre and diagonally set stack at
right end. Interior: ground floor chamfered binding beams. Included for
group value.
