Farmhouse and attached stable. Circa 1600, altered and extended to N in
C19, renovated and extended to S. Timber frame exposed on 1st floor at
rear, jettied centre at front plastered, red brick casing and end bays,
steep old red tile roof. A long, 2-storeys house, set back from road,
facing E. 5 bays long with central entrance under 3-bays wide jettied
1st floor carried on elaborately moulded oak bressumer with ovolo
moulded bottom edge. Decorative diamond shape in pargetting with crowned
Tudor rose and 'E R'. Wide casement windows, one to each floor in each
bay. Internal chimney in middle bay replaces larger C17 original.
Internal end gable chimneys to added bays N and S. Exposed framing at
rear has 3 bays of 4:3:4 panels, rear door in middle bay below, and
small cast-iron pump attached to rear wall with spurred spout and long
handle. Long low red brick and slate stable range attached to N end and
extending to E enclosing the forecourt included for group value.
