Farmhouse, now a private house. Late medieval open-hall house, late C17
central chimney and crosswing, late C18 parallel W crosswing, early C19
brick casing and renovation. Timber frame cased in red brick with some
random blue bricks, C18 crosswing chequered with blue headers. Steep old
red tile roofs with overhanging verges. An asymetrical 2 storeys and
attic (W part) and 1½ storeys (E part) T-plan house facing S with 2
gables to W part and 2 gabled dormers at eaves on E part. Projecting
porch under catslide roof in middle. 4 windows long. Flush casement
windows with leaded glazing. Large cruciform brick chimney with
corbelled cap. Small later E gable chimney. Good early C18 panelled room
on W of stack with filleted ovolo to large panels and fire surround
with reeded keystone. Lobby-entry plan with stair rising behind stack
from E room. a hall/kitchen. (RCHM Typescript).
