Lock Cottage on Grand Union Canal at Lock No. 71. Early C19. Pale buff face brick with gauged buff brick soldier course lintels to windows. Hipped slated roof. Split level two storey, one facing lock. 2-bayed front with masonry steps up to solid central door entrance. S-brackets to cantilevered hood over door breaking main roof. Flanking single-light timber casements and double-light casements, all recessed. Exposed rafters to eaves. 2 chimney stacks to rear with 3-course oversailing to top finished with cream clay pots. 2 storeys to left return and rear. 2-light casements in returns.
Interior not inspected. Restored in the early C21.
