House, now 2 dwellings. C15. Cased and extended in early C18. Extended
and altered in mid C19. Timber frame core. Red brick cased and extended.
Stock brick C19 block. Tiled roofs. Originally 2 bay open hall with 2
storey 3 or 4 bay parlour cross wing. T on plan. Now all 2 storeys. Hall
with projecting cross wing to left and C19 block to right. Entrance at
right end of hall: 6 panelled door in a recess under a C19 lean-to ground
floor projection which has a 4 light window, leaded panes, later sham
timber framing. First floor has 3 openings with cambered heads, central
2 light casement with timber glazing bars, outer openings blocked.
Parapet with banded brick coping, segmental step up to centre. Steeply
pitched roof with stack to front pitch where hall meets cross wing.
Parapet to gable front of cross wing. Brick plinth and 2 plat bands.
Ground and first floor 2 light timber glazing bar casements with
cambered heads. To right is 1 bay mid C19 block. Large ground floor
tripartite casement. Small first floor 2 light casement. Moulded
dentilled eaves. Hipped roof. Similar right return. Left return from
cross wing has an extruded stack, 2 light casement on ground floor,
oculus on first floor. Dentilled eaves. Straight joint near front wall.
Extending to left and set well back is a separate C18 brick block. Tall
2 storeys. 2 bays. Squarish on plan. Ground floor; hooded entrance with
flanking.C20 windows. First floor small sashes over entrance and to
right. Ridge stack to left of centre. Hipped roof. In angle with cross
wing a roughcast projection with an entrance. First floor 6 light
casement. Hipped roof. To rear, casements on hall range, ground floor
French windows, first floor C20 window, hipped roof on mid C19 range.
Cross wing has 2 ground floor C20 windows and a blocked entrance, large
first floor sash with a cambered head, gable parapet. Stack on ridge
joining cross wing to C18 block which has C20 windows. Dentilled eaves.
