Farm
Outbuilding, probably a former calf shed or shelter shed. Late C17/early
C18. Cob walls; hipped thatch roof wtih gablets. Rectangular plan. One
storey. Low cob wall to front (west) elevation, flanked by double entries;
blocked pitching door to left (north) gable end. Interior: split oak rafters
to 7-bay clasped purlin roof, partly rebuilt but retaining 3 queen-post and
queen-strut trusses. Floor is sunk about 60 cm below ground level. A rare
survival for Hertfordshire, of a pre-improvement type of cob (or battered
clay) farmbuilding.

Battered clay walls; thatched roof. On the W a pair of ramps
with double doors lead down to the interior where floor is 60cm
below ground level.
