4/41 Cruise Hill Cottage
II
House. C17; restored mid-C0. Timber-framed with brick and rendered
infill on brick base; plain tiled roof. Two framed bays aligned east/
west; large external chimney at east gable end with offsets to south side
and cogged course at base of stack. Single storey and attic with dormers.
Framing: three panels from sill to wall-plate, short straight braces in
upper corners, collar and tie-beam truss with two struts to collar and
single strut in apex visible at west gable end. North front elevation:
ground floor has two pairs of 2-light casements with a plank weathering
to each pair; two gabled dormers with square C20 single-light windows.
Attic light at west gable end. Also small rectangular light at base of
stack at east end. Interior not inspected. A C20 extension to the rear
of the west bay has the present main entrance in its west side elevation.
