6/26 Thatch Cottage

Cottage. Probably late C17 to C18 with mid-C19 alterations. Timber-
frame with plaster and brick infill; concrete tile and pantile roof, stone
external end stack with detached brick shaft. Two structural bays aligned
north-north-east/south-south-west. One storey and attic. East elevation
has two windows, 2-light mid-C19 casements to centre and left, catslide
covers entrance porch and ledged c1900 door to right; attached to the
right-hand gable and obscuring the end stack is a mid-C19 brick single-
storey extension, with a hipped pantiled roof. Frame is two square panels
high from cill to wall-plate. (RCHM Vol I, p 11).
