SO 34 SW BREDWARDINE CP BREDWARDINE

Former school, now hostel. 1856. Rubble with ashlar dressings, tile
roof, stone coped verges, chimney stack to left with 4 diamond shafts;
L-plan, one limb extending north, the other west, with a further, con-
temporary wing extending south from the west corner. A Vernacular Gothic
style of balanced asymmetry. One storey with attics. Gabled wing to left,
with entrance under lean-to canopy in right wall; two gables to rest of
facade, that to right is larger and breaks forward; 3 windows to attic,
in each gable of 2 trefoiled lights, in centre a gabled dormer; ground
floor: door to left gable, window with 4 shouldered lights to right,
in centre entrance under a catslide roof flanked by 2 square-headed
slit windows. Bell cote on roof containing a bell.
