CRANBROOK BAKER'S CROSS, (EAST TQ 7735 NE SIDE) 12/14 Crest Cottage and 20.6.67 Dove Cottage (formerly listed as No 8 and Dove Cottage) GV II

Cottage pair. Early C19. Part timber-framed with painted brick ground floor and tile-hung first floor. Slate roofs with taller hipped wing appearing behind centre of ridge. Brick stacks to left, off centre to right and on rear wing. Two storeys. Irregular-spaced 4-window first floor, irregular 3-window ground floor. Glazing bar sashes with open boxes on first floor, glazing bar sashes below. Entrances to left of centre (Crest Cottage) with panelled door with inset fanlight and to extreme right, (Dove Cottage) with panelled door. Wing to rear with very steep hipped roof with large gablet to east, possibly C15 or C16.
