Public house. C17 with extensive alterations and additions. Part timber-
framed with brick infill, part brick, tiled roof. 'H-shape' plan, central
2 bay range with 2 bay intersecting cross-wings, the lower wing of probable
later date; c1900 extensions. 2 storeys; late C18 brick refacing with
dentilled eaves cornice; 1:2:1 bays; windows are large C20 cross casements
except for ground floor of left cross-wing which is a C19 sash with glazing
bars. Large brick stack to left of central range with 4 octagonal shafts
and oversailing cap courses. Central c1900 flat roofed extension to ground
floor of central range with Tudor-arched central doorway and angled bay
window. Interior is extensively altered and refitted. A late C19 building
with extensions to rear adjoins north-west rear gable end.
