Abbots Retreat shown as Sarnia on OS.
Cottage row. Early C18 with some mid-C20 alterations. Timber-frame with
painted brick and rendered infill on stone plinth, thatched roof. Probably
seven framed bays with stacks at junctions. One storey with attic lit by
four eyebrow dormers, ground floor 1 + 3 + 2 + 2 casements, mostly 2.-light
C20 casements. Entrances have C20 ledged and boarded doors. Abbots Retreat
and Mercia Cottage have garage doors inserted. Framing of elm, three square
panels high.
