5/56 Forge Cottage

GV II

Cottage, C17 and C18. Timber-frame with plaster infill, colourwashed brick
additions, plain tile roof. 3 bay timber-frame with small central smoke or screen
passage bay. Each end C18 brick bay, with wing to rear at left. Central doorway
with baffle entry and open gable timber porch. In bays either side C19 2-light
casements, and C18 2-light casement in left bay. Above C17 bays, C20 gabled dormers
with tall 3-light casements. Whole of frame exposed. Roof half-hipped with ridge
stack above doorway.
