Cherry Cottage and
Cherry Orchard

House divided in two. Probably circa 1500, extended to rear C20. Timber framed,
largely exposed, plaintiled hipped roof. Rendered deep brick plinth. Brick
stack to left of centre and behind ridge is in two builds, partly rebuilt. 2
storeys, probably formerly of cross passage hall plan. Blocked doorway with
4-centre arched head, in cross passage position, slightly to left of shaft of
stack. Spandrels intact, the doorway now has a small fixed light. Central
ground floor 4-pane casement. Small light to right. Three first floor 4-pane
2-light casements, that to centre replacing a larger, parly blocked original
window. Small light to left below eaves. Arch braced to upper floor the frame
is generally intact except for thinner scantling repairs to ground floor right.
Left hand return, 3 x 2 pane ground floor window and part glazed door, first
floor 4-pane casement. Right hand return part glazed door, 4-pane horned sash,
C20 2-light casement above. External stack to rear wall of presumed parlour
(right). Interior not inspected.
