CROWFIELD CHURCH ROAD WI 15 NE 4/9 Barn, 20m north of Whitehouse Farmhouse GV II Barn, mid C16. 5 bays. Timber-framed and weatherboarded; some original wattle and daub infill. Asbestos sheeted roof, hipped and gabletted (once thatched). A set of 4 C20 boarded barn doors at the centre bay, south side. The east end bay was originally floored at mid-height, and used as stabling; the loft above was not divided off from the barn, but had 4-light diamond mullioned windows on two sides. Good complete arch wind-braced studding and wind-braced clasped-purlin roof. The arch-braces from the open trusses have been mainly replaced with C19 bolted knees. Probably contemporary with farmhouse.
