Farmhouse, mid/late C16 with earlier core. 2 storeys. 3-cell plan. Timber
framed and plastered. Pantiled roof with axial chimney of red brick. Mid C20
small-pane casements. C20 gabled pantiled entrance porch with half glazed
door. Good quality mid C16 framing exposed internally: the early C16 (or
possibly C15) open hall was adapted and the parlour cell was rebuilt. Arch
windbraced close studding in the parlour cell. Fine first floor structure in
hall and parlour, the joists each having intricate bar chamfer stops and sunk
triangles at the soffit. A service room has square unchamfered joists. The
hall has a pair of storey posts with the archbraces from the central truss of
an open hall. This cell was ii storeys high until the walls were raised in
C19 to give a uniform 2 storey roofline.
