House and shop. C17 core; major mid C19 remodelling. Two storeys, three windows. Originally a house of three-cell lobby-entrance plan, extended to right in C19. Timber-framed and plastered. Double Roman pantiled roof with complete series of C19 fleur-de-lys crested ridge tiles. An axial late C19 chimney of red brick with gault brick quoins; a C19 gable chimney to right. Mid C19 casements. Mid C19 four-panelled door to No.39, glazed C20 door to No.41. The C17 house has quite complete framing, mainly concealed, giving evidence that the house was of one and half storeys until C19 when walls were raised and roof rebuilt.
