Former farmhouse. Early C16 with alterations of early C17 and c.1970. One
storey and attics. A 2-cell open hall house with major additions. Timber-
framed and plastered. Thatched roof with an axial C17 chimney of pink/buff
brick, and another external gable chimney also C17. An eyebrow casement
dormer. Mid C20 small-pane casements. Boarded C20 entrance door. A 2-bay
open hall has a storeyed cell at the east end. Arch windbraced widely-spaced
studding. Queenpost roof (the open truss has been removed). Unchamfered 1st
floor joists. A C17 inserted 1st floor in the hall has on-edge joists. A
wide lintelled open fireplace of this date in the 2nd cell. Two single-cell
extensions added either side in C17: one has a lintelled parlour fireplace and
the other a diamond mullioned window.
