Former farmhouse. Late C17. Timber framed and plastered, the left gable end
roughcast-rendered. Roof clad in corrugated iron, placed over the thatch in
early 1940's. 3 cells. 2 storeys. 2 windows: early C20 5-light casements on
ground floor, older 2-light casements above. Doorway to left has C20 plank
door and gabled hood. Internal stack with original plain shaft set across the
roof ridge. Old pantiled lean-to's at rear. Interior. Frame in 4 bays.
Some plain widely-spaced first floor studding with straight braces. Several
original upper doors. All ground floor rooms have axial ceiling beams, those
in the hall and parlour with lamb's tongue or ogee stop-chamfers. The joists
are plastered over. Roof timbers concealed.
